| Repro preparation is the key part of the process of flexo printing. Why is it so important? Unlike other printing techniques, flexo printing paints a printing form with equal quantity of paint all over the plate with anilox roller. Printing elements and paint separations must be prepared for the receiving of paint in order to avoid that the elements get dirty, get closed and similar inconveniences. It is necessary to compensate dot gain, to adjust to existing raster rollers, different printing substrates, etc. This all happens within the repro preparation, which must solve printing problems, because printing equipment with polymer printing forms has its limitations. Without good knowledge of flexo printing technology, the requirements of packaging printers, in regard to the expected printing quality, could hardly be met. The requirements are very high, repro preparation and printing plates must enable the same printing quality as it was performed on a test print. |
